“Yesterday, December 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan..." Those were some of the sobering words from President Franklin D. Roosevelt after Pearl Harbor was attacked on December 7, 1941. The attack led  to the United States' formal entry into World War II the next day.
