If you were asked the question, “What MUST I do to see the Lord?”, what would your response be? Or stated another way, “What MUST I do to be in the Kingdom of God?” One of the answers to this question is found in Hebrews 12:14: “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.”

The first part of this directive, to pursue peace with all men, most of us grasp fairly well. But the second part of the directive—and holiness, is a bit more difficult to understand. What does it mean to pursue holiness? If you are in pursuit of holiness, is it possible to obtain it? Is it even possible that the concept of holiness can actually refer to you and me? Let us see if we can gain a deeper, and more applicable understanding of what holiness is and what it means to pursue holiness that we might fulfill this requirement to see the Lord.
