God's chosen people are special to Him. He is in the process of developing His holy righteous character in them so that He can trust them with the lives of other humans yet to be taught and brought to Him. Colossians 3:1—2 therefore tells us what our focus ought to be: "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth".
