Discouragement and depression are very close cousins, you might even say twins because it is hard to tell them apart at times. Discouragement is normal and what most everyone experiences at times, whereas depression is a much more serious matter. The death of a family member, difficult family situations, failing health, finances, physiological and chemical imbalances, etc. are just a few of conditions that may lead to discouragement and depression and the children of God, the righteous of God, are not immune.
