Paul is not only concerned about the false religious teachings, crippling social deviance, and individual sins, he was concerned about what their commitment to Jesus Christ looked like in their personal lives, in their home.  He wanted the truth, law, faith, presence and sacrifice of Jesus Christ to be personal, not just academic in nature. As a result, Paul, throughout his Epistles, makes the theological practical by bringing it down to a matter of relationships within the household. He begins with this statement: Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. What does that actually mean?
